=Where Art and Medical Technology Meet=

CHRISTINA J. HAMMETT

I am an artist and a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. I merge these skills and experiences into the medical arts discipline of anaplastology. My medical technology background and specialized training in prosthetic design, construction and coloring enable me to create truly life-like prosthetic devices.

I can provide cosmetic prosthetic solutions for women who have had (or will have) mastectomies, people who have Polands Syndrome, those who have missing or malformed fingers, hands, toes or feet or who may have other external physical features they wish to have improved.

While my technical education and experience in the medical field are invaluable assets informing my approach to anaplastology, I am an artist and not a medical doctor. The prosthetic devices I create are for cosmetic purposes and are not intended as medical corrections.

I use the best medical-grade silicones and colors available today. These materials are skin-friendly, comfortable and incredibly durable.

I operate a small studio (in New England), making it possible for me to provide you the best personal attention. I will work directly with you in designing a prosthesis that meets your unique needs and expectations. Initial consultations are free. I am happy to work with your reffering physician and insurance company.

I received my training as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at the New England Institute of Technology. I received advanced training in prosthetics at the school of world-reknowned special effects and makeup artist Joe Blasco. Additional training was received at Factor II, a supplier of medial-grade silicones to artists and technicians in the field of anaplastology. I am a member of the American Anaplastology Association.

My assistant is Marshall Hammett, a sculptor, painter and illustrator whose work is in constant circulation and can be found in private and corporate collections across the country. He is a charter member of the Association of Lifecasters International.
